Comment:
Dipylidium caninum egg packet - saline preparation. These contain 2 - 63 embryonated eggs (av 15 - 25) each egg is spherical 35 - 60 microns wide and contains a hexacanth (oncosphere) 20 - 30 microns wide. D. caninum is the common tapeworm of dogs and cats and occasionally humans. Cat fleas, Ctenocephalides felis felis are the intermediate hosts.
